Yesterday, September 29, another annual Assembly of the International Publishers Association (IPA), of which the UPBA has been a member since 2011, took place. Two members of the Board participated as delegates on our behalf: Volodymyr Karasyov, director of the "Znanna" publishing house, and Viktor Kruglov, general director of the "Ranok" publishing house.
A number of organizational issues that accumulated during the year were discussed at the Assembly. Among them are the election of members of the IPA committees and the vice president. Our delegates voted for the representative of Georgia, Mrs. Gvantsa JOBAVA, who was elected to this position. After congratulating her on her election, Mrs. Jobava promised to support Ukrainian publishers in the MAV in every possible way.
From what is interesting for us.
The International Publishers Association has opened a free online school for publishers. Therefore, each of our publishers will now be able to subscribe and watch courses from the academy.
Here is the address: www.ipaacademy.net.
A collective statement was also voted on the importance and necessity of free work of publishing houses for the sake of development. The link to it is below: https://www.internationalpublishers.org/images/aa-content/inspire/inspire-report-a-commitment-to-solidarity.pdf
In addition, it was announced that until October 20, the MAV will organize 3 briefings for members of the Association from Europe, America and Asia with the president of the GS "UAVK" Oleksandr Afonin. At these briefings, issues of concrete assistance to the Ukrainian publishing business from the members of the IAM will be discussed.
